- For any shock or tingle, call Energex immediately on 13 19 62. Keep clear of the area and do not touch your switchboard, appliances, or any metal fixtures until they have made the situation safe.
- For life-threatening emergencies, call Triple Zero (000). Seek medical advice after an electric shock.
Current primary guidance
The Queensland Fire Department smoke-alarm guidance distinguishes dwelling status, layout and existing equipment. Its page was read on 10 October 2026. Use the category that applies to your property rather than treating the 2027 owner-occupied deadline as an extension for every situation.
ESO's electrical FAQ explains circuit protection and routine safety-switch testing. Energex's shock and tingle guidance gives the immediate response for that hazard. These sources guide action but do not diagnose your installation.
For records after electrical work, WorkSafe's certificate guidance uses the current 2026 regulation and distinguishes equipment work from installation work. The record concerns the extent affected by that work. These official pages were checked for this resource set on 10 October 2026. Review their current wording when planning a later project.
